What We Offer

Play and Creative Arts Therapy and Counselling Support

For young people aged 13+

We see the whole child beyond behaviours and beyond the diagnosis, we see your child’s heart and help others see it too.

We all know that young children rarely use talking as a way to resolve their issues, but as they grow older this changes. Whether your young person is talkative or struggles to express their emotions verbally, I adapt my approach to fit them. I combine Play and Creative Arts Therapy, SandStory Therapy, and counselling skills to suit your young person’s individual needs.

My Approach

My approach is rooted in creating a deep connection with the young person so that they feel safe to share and process their life story. I focus on building a warm, empathetic, and therapeutic relationship. The young person leads the way, choosing what they would like to engage with or discuss in the session. As our relationship develops, I may offer a suggestion or an activity that enables the young person to explore a particular issue further.

The use of creative media and activities provides a gentle, safe, and unique way of helping them to externalise subconscious feelings, traumas, or fears. You don't need artistic skills to participate. The focus is on non-verbal expression and the creative process rather than creating a masterpiece.

Through my most recent work with victims of child sexual abuse, and additional trauma training, I am a trauma-informed therapist.
